Our commitment to the environment and our employees
Bridger is committed to providing a safe work environment for its employees and to being a responsible corporate citizen in all the places we do business. While our Environmental Health Safety and Security (EHS&S) procedures ensure we comply with all laws and regulations, we strive to do better. We believe that success in the areas of environmental, health and safety leads to operational excellence and financial success.
Our commitment to safety starts at the top. We created the “Stop Work Program” to empower all employees and contractors to identify and stop unsafe work processes, locations and equipment at any time. All Bridger personnel are made aware of this program as part of the onboarding process.
Our dedicated EHS&S team is responsible for supporting the safety needs of our employees in the field, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, including those from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration rules and regulations.
Our participation in seven major state trucking associations helps us stay informed about the latest rules and regulations surrounding EHS&S and trucking, and provides us with best practices and new ways to improve and build upon our existing EHS&S infrastructure, policies and procedures. We also support Operation Life saver, a non-profit organization that provides public education programs to prevent collisions, injuries and fatalities on and around railroad tracks and highway-rail grade crossings.
“Call Before You Dig” 811 System
Bridger supports the Common Ground Alliance’s “Call Before You Dig” (811) system. The system was created to reduce and prevent the unintentional hitting of underground utility lines while working on digging projects. Using 811 prevents accidents, injuries and saves lives. Before beginning a project that requires excavation or digging, call 811. The 811 call center will notify local utilities and companies who operate underground facilities about your project, and if necessary, the utility or company will send a representative to your site to locate any underground utility/pipeline and clearly mark the route. Our environmental policy at Bridger means leaving the Earth cleaner than we found it for future generations. We are committed to the conservation of the environment, and work closely with local, state and federal agencies to ensure our facilities and operations meet or exceed regulations.
We design our facilities to minimize our carbon footprint while simultaneously keeping the earth and waterways free from contaminants. Our state-of-the art tractors are equipped with the latest DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) technology to capture hazardous vapors and prevent them from polluting the air.
